Philosophy

Metaverse is an open and shared virtual world that allows people to participate, engage and interact using a digital avatar. Metaverse platforms are virtual platforms that are used by developers to create a new virtual experience using technologies as advanced reality, virtual reality, artificial intelligence and many other technologies. Metaverse we can in essentially be understood as a bridge between the physical and digital worlds.

Philosophy

In most cases, people perceive only the surface of the problem, but do not explore the essence behind the phenomenon. For a better understanding of the meaning of the Metaverse, it is necessary to analyze its essence also from the point of view of philosophy. Metaverse is often associated with the term "augmented reality" (XR), a term that encompasses immersive technologies such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR).

Physical reality, on the other hand, is the world that we experience as our ancestors would have experienced it. No benefits of any XR, VR and AR technologies. The reality-virtuality (RV) continuum can do just that help and better understand VR, AR and MR. The RV continuum is shown in the figure below.

The real environment is shown on the left side of the continuum, consisting exclusively of real physical entities and the virtual environment on the right side of the continuum. The virtual environment is made up exclusively of virtual ones entities. Many types of mixed reality can be placed right between the real and the virtual ends of the reality-virtuality continuum. Additionally, metaverse technologies are typically implemented in a mixed reality environment in which we find both real physical entities and virtual entities.
