At the moment, the 5G standards are defined by 3GPP, it is a project composed of several telecommunications organizations that originally joined with the interest of creating global standards and specifications for 3G. 3GPP standardizes the features and specifications of all of its generations of mobile technologies, these include 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G. These specifications are combined into groups that we call Release. 3GPP meets several times a year for planning and developing a new release that builds on previous releases, improves them and at the same time provides new functionalities. At these meetings, modifications for 3GPP are being prepared and proposed specifications. After that, there are still quarterly meetings, where the proposals can be approved changes from previous meetings and subsequently incorporated into 3GPP specifications. After approval the method defined in ITU-T Recommendation I.130 will be used. According to the specifications, they will be found service requests from the user. The architecture is defined according to these requirements which supports these requirements and finally they try to implement the given architecture in detail according to the protocols. [L1] 3GPP has been working on 5G technology since the last quarter of 2016, but for the first time appeared only in release 15, which started in Q2 2017. [L2]
