Spatial
Spatial is currently the best known and most immersive VR / AR video conferencing application. When registering, all you must do is take a photo of your face from the front, which the Spatial application then maps to the 3D avatar you will work with in the application. You can immediately enter the dozen rooms on offer, including NASA's Space X room and various image galleries.
For video conferencing, you have the option of creating your own virtual room (either with a predefined office template or purely empty). Other video conferencing members can be easily invited by email. Each connected member is represented by a 3D avatar, whether connected via a web browser or directly with a VR / AR headset. In the created room, Spatial offers a wide range of support tools that you can use, for example, for presentations - from 3D objects that you can manipulate, to various built-in collaboration applications such as Slido, Figma.
pros:
- The basic version, which offers all the above functionalities, is free
- Extensive support for multiple VR / AR headsets
- Create a realistic 3D avatar from just one face photo
- Lots of built-in tools for presentation or virtual collaboration
- Mouth movement mapping only by voice detection - if audio input comes from the user, the avatar opens the mouth
- Eye tracking is missing
