Principles
Augmented Reality (AR) is a cousin of VR and does not stimulate the creation of a virtual world. Unlike VR, AR is accessed using mobile phones but AR glasses. AR combines the physical world with computer-generated virtual elements. These elements are then projected onto the physical surfaces in the field of view of people, so with the intention of combining them to complement each other.
Augmented reality inserts or overlays real-world content using devices such as a smartphone screen or a headset. While virtual reality replaces what people see and experience, augmented reality adds content to reality.
Using devices like HTC Vive, Oculus Rift or Google Cardboard, virtual reality completely covers and replaces the user's field of view, while AR projects images in front of them into a fixed area.
