S5G networks are becoming more and more standard in Slovakia, and companies like Telekom, Orange and O2 Slovakia are building their networks very quickly. In particular, O2 Slovakia managed to cover a significant part of the country with its 5G network (Figure 6), and even leads its competitors in terms of coverage. This is also evidenced by the purple "splash" symbol representing 5G in many district towns, which is not found on the Telekom or Orange coverage maps. With coverage available in major cities such as Bratislava, Nitra and Košice, as well as in many smaller towns, O2 Slovakia's 5G network is rapidly expanding and improving. [G12] The 5G network at Telekom Slovakia operates in the so-called NSA (Non-standalone mode), which means that the operator combines the capabilities of the 4G and 5G networks on the 2100 MHz frequency. The maximum download speed should be 1150 Mbps for download and 131 Mbps for upload. [G22]
